Cost reduction (VAVE) of and existing diagnostics instrument

Following a Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) exercise, we identified a cost-savings opportunity by changing the pack cooler in a multiplex testing system. The change improved manufacturability by reducing the labor time and requirement for specialized skills. Additionally, the design change improved lead time for manufacturing and reduced product risks through replacement of aging specialty tooling.
TEG 6s™ hemostasis analyzer system

Having real-time awareness of a patient’s blood clotting ability, or hemostasis, in an emergency or surgical setting is crucial for doctors to be able to maintain patient coagulation equilibrium. Oftentimes, hemostasis analysis is completed in a hospital’s central laboratory, separate from the surgical theater.
COVID-19 point of care diagnostic test platform

In response to the SARS-CoV-2 virus and demand for diagnostic testing, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) called for accelerated development of COVID-19 healthcare solutions and expanded national testing capacity. Under the FDA emergency use authorization (EUA) directive, our client set out to develop a rapid, molecular diagnostic test for the identification of the SARS-CoV-2 virus that was able to be run by non-medical personnel.
CELL-DYN SMS™ automated blood film preparation system

ained blood smears are microscopically examined as an aid in diagnosing general infections and blood related disorders such as leukemias and anemia. Abbott Diagnostics approached us to provide turnkey instrument design, development and transfer-to-manufacture services for an integrated system that would automatically smear blood and stain slides.
SL50 automated microscope slide loader

Our client approached us to assist in the development of an automated system to load and unload glass slides onto a microscope stage. The product is an ideal companion for high-throughput imaging applications, and suitable for the clinical diagnostic and life sciences markets.
NucliSENS® EasyMAG sample preparation instrument

When bioMérieux, a world leader in the field of in vitro diagnostics (IVD), approached us to partner on this project, they had already developed a concept demonstration prototype in-house. The main challenge was to evolve the technology into a highly usable, robust, market-ready instrument in a short amount of time, and we were able to deliver it to them in just 20 months.
Ruggedized malaria point of care device prototype

Invetech delivered 50 Point of Care device prototypes in 12 months for real-world African field testing of a rapid, low-cost malaria diagnostic system with improved performance over current test methods
Automating processes to streamline the clinical lab workflow

Conventional clinical microbiology involves specimen collection, registration, inoculation, isolation, identification and testing of pathogenic microbes from clinical specimens. Traditionally, this process has used minimal automation.
Evalution™ multiplex biomarker analysis

European-based company MyCartis developed its proprietary Dynamic Multi-Analyte Technology (DMAT®). DMAT® is an advanced and unique technology to deliver superior data quality and rapid results for analyzing multiple protein and nucleic acid-based biomarkers. To close the gap between the user requirements of their target groups and its unique technology,
BOND-III™ fully automated IHC and ISH staining system

Our client needed to meet a market demand for higher throughout leveraging a robust and well performing instrument. The BOND-III fully automated staining system is built upon the prior generation instrument with design changes that enable the new instrument to increase capacity by 50%. These design changes increase processing speed by eliminating process bottlenecks and reducing downtime by improving the usability of the user interface and simplifying reagent management.
