Visionary, Innovator, Engineer, Everywhere Cyclist
Peter, an everyday and everywhere cyclist, is devoted to improving healthcare in the diagnostic market. A long-time member of our IVD leadership team, Peter spends much of his time in front of clients translating their needs and desires into tangible concepts and program plans.
“My motivation comes from creating a vision for new clients and showing them how their product could work, what it could look like, and how we will craft it into reality.”
Scientist, Laboratory Specialist, Photographer
Not content with his busy role in the laboratories of Invetech, Ali spends his Saturdays working for a pathology laboratory. “It’s something I’m just passionate about. I get to experience new, automated systems and keep my skills fresh in terms of being an active lab user.”
Designer, Usability Engineer, Musician
Multifaceted Max, musician, songwriter, band manager, creative artist, designer and engineer at Invetech. “My recent usability activities on a large instrument program have been particularly rewarding as I know my contribution will enable the end user to have the best possible operating experience whilst removing the potential for user-error.”
Manufacturing Engineer, Jet Engine Designer, Automotive Restorer
Coming to Invetech by way of Rolls Royce aviation where he designed jet engines, Richard is passionate about manufacturing high-technology products.
“I get great satisfaction in knowing every single product we deliver is going to a customer somewhere around the world to be used to improve or save lives!”
Electro-Mechanical Technician, Boomerang Experimenter
There are no two work days the same for Charles, with engineering, prototyping, design for production, and traveling for technical support and maintenance on his plate.
Outside of work, Charles’s experimentation and prototyping continue with creative boomerang design and testing, as well as any number of other outdoor experiences.
Engineer, Pixel Artist, Upcycler
A key team member on many cell therapy automation projects, Andrew comments “I think about the birthday cakes that wouldn’t have been if not for technology we’re developing.” Apart from saving lives, Andrew sets the standard in saving the environment, from making tables out of old packing crates to creating decorative made from hard-rubbish and garage sales finds, and beyond.
Software Engineer, Educator, Singer
From managing the transition of a POC hematology instrument from development to manufacture, to mentoring female high school students on clean energy projects, Lauren’s driving passion is improving lives. “I’m passionate about improving people’s lives, through education, through better health outcomes.”
Embedded Software Engineer, Golfer, Chorister
From telecommunications (including, mobile telephony, mobile hotspot and base-station technology) to in vitro diagnostics (specifically Point of Care biomedical instrument workflow development), Kevin’s career has been varied.
In his free time, you can find Kevin playing golf with his family or singing bass in a choir (though not at the same time).
Mechanical Engineer, Wooden Boat Restorer
Hugh’s five-year wooden boat restoration project led to a career in mechanical engineering at Invetech.
“A desire to understand the engineering concepts behind many elements of the rebuild led me back to university to study mechanical engineering. There a door opened into the world of medical device development and microfluidics, eventually leading me to Invetech where thankfully there’s also no shortage of challenging engineering problems to tackle.”
User Experience Designer, Researcher, Strategist, Traveler, Foodie
Making an impact is what inspires Betina in the world of design-led innovation and experience design, “tackling challenging problems to positively impact people’s lives is what motivates me every day.”
When she is not helping shape the future of healthcare, Betina can be found walking the beaches of San Diego along with her dog Remi.
UX/XD Interaction Designer, Tennis and Basketball Player, Home Chef/Baker, Traveller
Christian’s passion for experience design stems from his desire to understand people on a deep emotional level while they interact with technology and their environment. “I come from a family of artists and have always wanted to merge art, technology and communication.”
When Christian is not designing digital interfaces, he keeps busy playing tennis and basketball, sharpening his cooking/baking skills and crafting his imagination.
Electronics Engineer, Author, Antiques Collector
Among many projects, Ian has been the leading light of our RoHS offering–a role that calls for extraordinary attention to detail. Naturally, this trait is evident in Ian’s private pursuits including spending 10 years writing a definitive text on the history of Roman coinage, in his spare time.
“One of my more memorable projects was developing a molecular diagnostic platform for detecting tuberculosis in 3rd world countries. From a technical perspective, it was challenging integrating so much technology into a compact instrument including sample preparation, ultrasonics, rapid PCR, electrophoresis, optics and microfluidics. How we whooped with delight when a perfect electropherogram first appeared on the screen!”
